Local elections for Ceredigion were held on May 4, 2017. Within the Ward of Llanrhystud 826 votes were cast, out of a possible 1200, with two Ballot Papers rejected.

The local polling station for the village was Llanrhystud Memorial Hall, where over 800 of the electorate cast their votes on a dry, warm and sunny day.

After all votes had been counted, councillor David Rowland Rees-Evans was re-elected to represent his local constituents for the next 5 years, with a resounding 58.5% of the vote.
