UK Weights & Measures

Llanrhystud is a large village located at the junction of the A487(T) and B4337 midway between Aberystwyth and Aberaeron.

The oldest part of the village is situated near St Rhystud's Church, which is a Grade II listed building. The area surrounding the church has been disignated as a conservation area. Recently, the village has experienced substantial growth, several housing estates and individual houses have been built. The village consists of approximately 200 houses.

Llanrhystud acts as a focus for a large rural area and possesses a relatively wide range of facilities, which include a village school, memorial hall, church and chapel and an attractive amenity area with a football field and children's play equipment. In addition there is a village shop/post office, public house, garage/shop and café and a good bus service along the coast road. Adjacent to the garage there is a Goods Vehicle Testing Station. Llanrhystud is also a tourist destination and has 3 caravan sites, one of which is part of a golf course and leisure complex located to the east of the village. Llanrhystud's extensive beach is composed of boulders and pebbles but during low water a wide strip of flat sand becomes exsposed. In summer months the beach is a popular destination for residents of the local hinterland. A weekly market is held in the village during the summer months.
