Extract from Historic Cardiganshire Homes:
Ystrad Teilo, Llanrhystud

The first person who dwelt at Ystrad Teilo, and probably erected the first edifice, was Richard Llwyd who married the daughter of Morgan Herbert of Hafod Ychtrid in the 16th century. Richard ap Ieuan Llwyd, High Sheriff in 1651, was the second son who succeeded when his eldest brother David Lloyd died without issue. Richard and Gwenllian had a son and heir, Erasmus, who married Bridget Lewes of Gernos, and their son Richard married Elizabeth Lloyd of Crynfryn in 1669. Their elder son, Erasmus, succeeded and married Jane Pryse of Gogerddan in 1702. In 1760, Owen Morris was the tenant followed by the Rev. Isaac Williams who was instituted to the living of Llanrhystud in 1764 and remained until he died in 1811.
