Extract from Historic Cardiganshire Homes: Moelifor Farm
Now only a farmhouse, was formerly the residence of two ancient families being pulled down around 1565 by Jenkin Gwynn. The line of Gwynns ended at about the time of Elinor Gwynn, widow of Moelifor, marrying a Richard Jones. In 1672, Richard Herbert lived at Moelifor and paid tax on five hearths. In 1703 Richard Phillips of Moelifor, who married Bridget Gwynn, was High Sheriff. Their daughter Jane married Erasmus Saunders, of Pentre, who was appointed a JP in 1748. Towards the end of the 18th century Moelifor, having become decayed, was taken down and the farmhouse built.
